With pharmacist being an indispensable team member in the community, can the public depend on pharmacists to provide advice on how to triage COVID-19 symptoms? Or are pharmacist just using this opportunity to sell anything that relates to sanitation and hygiene?

What can pharmacist actually do?

Individual pharmacist can keep updated with developing knowledge of the novel coronavirus by following official news from the government. One such example of accurate up-to-date information pharmacist can access is from the Australian Department of Health.

By keeping informed about the new developments in the coronavirus transmission profile, pharmacist can tailor dissemination of correct information and the sale of correct pharmacy products for the safety of the individual and public's health.

Tip:

At the start and end of every working day, pharmacist should watch the news to get updated health measures put into place for the country.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Go to www.youtube.com

  2. Search for reputable news broadcasters in your state and federally

  3. Subscribe to their COVID-19 news content

  4. Once subscribed, you will receive notifications on your phone on snippets of official government press release on the development of the coronavirus health measures undertaken by our Department of Health

  5. Digest the information and relay accurate health advice to your customers and patients
